Contentment

This life is short. It seems like I've just blinked and surprise, surprise I'm 22.

God has put me where I am in life. He made me who I am. I have a distinct personality, I have a sin nature (man's own doing.. >_<), I have distinct characteristics, distinct facial features, and so on and so on.

But here's the point. God made you. God gave you commands in His word.

Go do them.

Don't live with a wish to be something else; be someone else. Go take dominion. God commanded it.

But don't forget. Obey His laws and things will go well with you. Obey the words that He has for you in His Word.

Be content with those things.

The temptation is to want to be god. Don't give in to that. Don't allow your lusts to consume you. God is God. You're not.

*back to work.... zzzz*

I was just reading a quote earlier from Spurgeon on contentment:
"You say, 'If I had a little more, I should be very satisfied.' You make a mistake. If you are not content with what you have, you would not be satisfied if it were doubled." But like you said, it does all boil down to us wanting control.

Have you ever listened to Steven Curtis Chapman's ? Great song with a similar sentiment... your post made me think of it.
