While I understand that with much of life it's important to be thoughtful and careful. I think it's also important to be happy and joyful in it. There's something to a joyful sobriety. Being around people who are constantly down in the dumps, discouraged, and stressed is not a very easy environment to grow in.
There's a balance of joy and sobriety and I do believe they can go together.
Psalm 42:4 "I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday."
